People Pleasing?

It is completely impossible to find a worship style or level of sound and lighting at church that will please everyone. For some people, it will be a big enough deal that it will cause them to move on. That’s OK. You’re not called to please everyone. You’re called to please God.

Interestingly, a new church opened in my area a couple of years ago. They very intentionally set themselves up as a “traditional” church, with choir and orchestra. From what I’ve heard, they’re doing well. The thing that helped them to be successful in reaching people is that they knew who they were called to serve.

Here’s the thing – God did not use a cookie-cutter when He created us. We’re not the same. Use the gifts that God has given you to serve the people that He has placed in your care to the best of your ability, and there’s a very good chance that you’ll be on the right track. Honoring God matters a whole lot more than music genre or instrumentation… #creativeworshipideas
