The either/or fallacy…
If there is an “evangelist/discipler” scale, I am pegged on the evangelist side. It’s what drives me, and what I give my life to. HOWEVER, I very much realize that the people of the world deeply and desperately need disciplers. People who will work with them to help them grow in their faith. People who will stand beside them as they hit the inevitable speed bumps that life throws at us.
Both disciplers and evangelists are needed in our world. In my experience, the more we turn our lives over to God, the more we get a sense of how He has wired us (some are a combination of both). Disciplers help us to fulfill the Great Commandment. Evangelists do the same for the Great Commision.
Disciplers are essential. I’m not one. But I’m very happy to work alongside them to give people the FULL picture of life – with God at the center.
