“The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference.” – Elie Wiesel

We’re about to jump into a sermon series based on the Bible. The whole Bible. It’ll run for 31 weeks. That’s a long time – an eternity from a programming standpoint! I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out how we’re going to keep things fresh to help people to stay engaged. But that’s my problem – because we need to do this. There are too many forces in our world pushing against a trust in God and His Word, for us to let things slide and play church. My fear isn’t the “haters” – it’s that many people just don’t care or see any value in a relationship with God. They’ve become “comfortably numb,” like the old Pink Floyd song said (or – in reality – probably uncomfortably numb). Something inside of them (and me, from time to time, if I’m honest) has gone to sleep, and we need to help wake it up.

So in 2013, we jump deep into the Bible. Pray for us – it’s my prayer for you that you’ll also help people desperately in need of God to move in His direction.
