Every once in a while, it’s good to bring in a special guest to lead worship. It gives the team a break, and also brings some variety. Many churches choose to bring in Christian artists to fill that role, but there are other options, if you look hard enough. Northview Church borough in the Hunter Smith Band – Hunter was a well-known former player from the Indianapolis Colts, and – as such – had considerably more name recognition with the crowd in the Indy suburbs than most Christian artists would. Having a guy from the “real world” leading worship was a good front-door opportunity to invite skeptical friends/family/neighbors.
