Every once in a while, have something in your services that causes people to take immediate action. To get up out of their seats and do something. In our largely passive culture, this is unexpected – we’re used to listening during the sermon, sometimes watching, as well, but it’s rare that we are asked to do anything other than take notes.

That makes “action moments” memorable, and gives the potential to add emphasis to something really important – save them for key things. Writing down the names of loved ones/friends who aren’t in God’s family yet is a fantastic one – collect them and pray [and pray and pray]!
