Guitar playing is not a spiritual gift. Neither is singing. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a musician, and those are wonderful things – incredible gifts from God. But they are not our PRIMARY gifts. They are tools through which we unleash our giftings – for example, teaching, faith, encouragement, etc… Music is wondrous, but it has no value, in and of itself. It’s ONLY value is the effect that it has on people. So – when you sing, play, write songs – take the focus off of the song and put it on the receivers, the participators, the other singer/players.
