Technology is in rapid flux in the church world, just like everywhere else. LED lights have quickly become the standard, wireless microphone frequencies are being gobbled up for other uses, and the internet forms much of the core of modern society. For better or worse, that is true in church production, as well.

Virtually all audio, lighting and video systems are digital, and the ever-increasing majority of systems utilize network connections to pass along info. That means that your IT systems at church are for much more than e-mail – they now for the corer of your ability to put on your weekend services. As such, you need to make sure that you protect vital internet assets from being overwhelmed – either by having separate systems for production, or by making sure that there is more that enough bandwidth to go around. Light lighting and heat, IT assets have become part of the cost of “doing business” – we have very important business to do, so make sure you have what you need to get ‘er done!
