The Most Important People

Stan Endicott, co-founder of Slingshot Group, once discussed who he felt were the most important people on any church staff/volunteer team: nursery care workers, custodians, and soundpeople. Notice the similarity – these are people who serve…

The servant heart is a core characteristic of a mature Christian. Each of us has giftings that are meant for all of us. There are things within you that are meant to be unleashed not for yourself – things that will cost you, whether it be financially, or through compassion, the giving of time, etc…

The first step on the road to servanthood is turning our gazes off of ourselves. What are the needs around us? What is God putting in our sights? THEN look back within and say “What can I do about it? What knowledge or skills do I have which can be shared for the benefit of others?

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” – Galatians 5:13
