No Lone Wolves

Ministry is no place for lone wolves.

You do not have all of the skills that your church needs to thrive, no matter how multi-talented or entrepreneurial you are. You may also be an introvert. You like focusing without interruption. Interactions can be draining to you. It’s OK to be an introvert. I’m one. But – again – that’s not a good enough reason to keep others at arms length.

Besides that, ministry is not meant to be hoarded. Church not an “experts only” activity. There are areas where real skills are needed, but there are also huge areas of opportunity for people who are simply willing to say “yes!”

Don’t say “no” for them. There are likely areas where you think you can do it better yourself. In many cases, you may be right. But you are one person.

One person doesn’t make up a church.

“Two are better than one,   because they have a good return for their labor:

If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.

But pity anyone who falls   and has no one to help them up.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9-10Ministry is no place for lone wolves.
