You know, every once in awhile, an idea just doesn’t work that great…

We were doing a weekend on spiritual battles, and we used too many metaphors – a medieval castle, modern attack helicopters, etc… We also underestimated the size of our stage! Our castle – on which some of our folks worked very hard to get ready – just didn’t look like an imposing castle facade (it came across more like a backyard playfort). You know, in retrospect, the castle we built would have looked great if we would have made it look the the gate of a larger castle (represented on the back screen). Scale is important – your staging has to match the size of the stage. Ah well, live and learn – no one bats 1.000!
