A quick post for when you need to be quick… If you have limited worship time in a particular service due to a special element [ex baby dedication, communion, etc…], do several shorter [or partial] songs, rather than one long song. Your congregation is a diverse group with diverse needs at any given moment – sticking with one long song might be the direction you would prefer to head, but there’s likely a significant portion of the congregation who need to hear something in addition to or different than that one song’s message. Besides simply providing variety, a worship medley allows you to take the congregation on a journey, combining songs of encouragement with songs of direct worship to God. And – if you really can only do one song – go with the direct worship. That’s what we’re there for.
