More Christmas staging looks for your viewing pleasure… If your church has a balcony [or two], then a big part of the look and feel of any staging is the surface of the platform itself. Several times over the years, we painted the stage white – and one time, back in my Willow Creek days, painted a frozen river [complete with a frozen waterfall that “fell” over the front edge of the stage]. The white stages looked wonderful from the balconies – the only real drawback is that they would strongly reflect stage lighting onto the side or back screens, if the lights weren’t aimed just right. 

It also gave us a great excuse to give the stage a fresh coat of black paint once Christmas was over…
